Tehran, SANA- Iran’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Amir Saeed Iravani urged the UN Security Council (UNSC) to condemn the Zionist entity’s terrorist attacks and aggression on Syria.
The Zionist entity’s practices, continued violations of the Syrian territories and targeting figures and infrastructures, particularly attacks on airports, ships carrying humanitarian assistance to this country is considered a violation of the international law, the international humanitarian law and the Un charter, said Iravani, during a UNSC session on the situation in the Middle East and Syria.
The Iranian diplomat affirmed Syria’s legitimate right to defend itself according to the international charters.
He added that security and stability can’t be achieved in north of Syria except through maintaining its sovereignty and territorial integrity and fully respecting them.
Iravani considered that any military aggression in this region will constitute a challenge to the humanitarian issues and further worsen the situation.
He pointed out to the difficult humanitarian situation in Syria, asserting that the unilateral sanctions imposed by the Western countries complicate the situation, particularly in the field of public field and food security.
He accused the international community of failure to provide humanitarian aid to this country.
Iravani considered that ending the foreign occupation and restoring complete respect to Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity represent a precondition for any political solution to the crisis in it, renewing Iran’s condemnation of the theft of Syria’s natural resources, particularly the oil products in areas occupied by foreign forces, describing it as a criminal act which is considered as a flagrant violation of the UN resolutions and Charter.
