Susan: Turkish occupation’s pretexts to justify its policy in Syria deceives nobody, border security is shared responsibility

Astana, SANA- Dr. Ayman Susan, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, head of the Syrian Arab Republic delegation to the 19th International Meeting in Astana Format on Syria said on Wednesday that the world has  witnessed further escalation due to the mentality of hegemony and exclusivity in the international decision that leads the policies of the US administration, and Syria has suffered from these policies that aimed to impose trusteeship and dependence on it and confiscate Syria’s national decision.

“The US administration used all its lies, fabrications and media misinformation, and brought in terrorists from more than 90 countries to kill Syrians and destroy their achievements, and today it continues its economic terrorism through unilateral coercive measures and the theft of Syrian oil and wheat”, Dr. Susan said in a press conference.

Sousan added the illegitimate foreign presence on Syrian territory is a violation of international law, and aims to impede the consolidation of stability in Syria and to abort the achievements made in terms of combating terrorism and obstructing the reconstruction process, calling for an immediate cessation of these practices without any conditions, pointing out that the actions that  were  committed  by the American and Turkish occupation, foremost of which is the provision of support to the remnants of terrorist groups and the frequent cutting off water of Hasaka, amount to war crimes and crimes against humanity, and constitute a flagrant violation of the United Nations Charter. “we call on the international community to condemn these actions” he said.

” The pretexts that the Turkish occupation justify for its policies in Syria deceive nobody any longer, and any statements in order to gain a minimum level of credibility must be accompanied by actions on the ground, as border security is a shared responsibility and its guarantee is exclusively by respecting Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and non-interference in internal affairs and the withdrawal of the occupation forces”, Dr. Sousan continued.

He went on to say that the attacks committed by the separatist “QSD” militia in al- Jazeera region confirm its association with the anti-Syrian project, and it must abandon its illusions because the Syrian people will not allow anyone to harm the unity of the country, and any project in this regard is doomed to collapse and failure.

Dr. Sousan affirmed that Syria continues to work to provide the best ways to facilitate the return of the displaced to their cities and villages, and it has taken and is still taking the necessary measures to achieve this, pointing out that those who hinder the reconstruction process within the framework of exploiting the suffering of refugees to serve their projects should stop doing so, and accept the defeat of their project in Syrian.

He added that Syria affirms its commitment to providing aid to its citizens all through out Syria, and it is ready to cooperate with all other parties to supplement their efforts in this regard on the basis of national sovereignty.

Susan continued that Syria stresses that the solution to the crisis is in accordance with a Syrian-Syrian dialogue led and owned by Syria and without any external interference, and to provide appropriate conditions for the work of the Committee of Discussing Constitution away from any form of pressure. ‘

“The Astana formula contributed to reducing the terrorist presence in Syria, and it could have accomplished more achievements if the Turkish regime had adhered to the outputs and decisions of Astana and the understandings reached”, Dr. Soussan said.

He added that the final statement meets Syria’s aspirations by emphasizing the continuation of the combating terrorism and the work to enhance stability in it, and the Turkish regime must abide by what has been agreed upon.

Dr. Sousan stressed that any attack or infringement of Syrian lands is a violation of its sovereignty and is strongly condemned act, and Syria will do whatever it takes to defend its borders and its territorial integrity. “We say to others who still have some illusions about their expansion projects that there will be only united Syria.

“The International Community that constantly rises up for any little issue, has to raise the voice highly towards this escalation and these unaccepted aggressions the Turkish regime is perpetrating against the Syria’s territorial integrity”. Sousan underlined.
