Receiving credentials of Syrian Ambassador, Indian President reiterates her country’s support for Syria

New Delhi, SANA – The President of India, Droupadi Murmu, on Wednesday accepted credentials from the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Bassam Al-Khatib, underscoring her country’s support for the Syrian people in all circumstances.

Murmu noted that India’s support included providing programs for capacity-building and development, giving the establishment of India-Syria Center of Excellence for Information Technology in Damascus as an example.

The Syrian Ambassador extended President Bashar al-Assad’s greetings and keenness for enhancing the deeply rooted historical and cultural relations between the two countries.

The Indian President ,in turn, conveyed her greetings to President Bashar al-Assad and extended her thanks to Syria for supporting India at the international organizations and forums, wishing Syria and its people continued progress and prosperity.
