Mikdad receives credentials of Brazilian ambassador to Syria

Damascus, SANA- Foreign and expatriates Minister, Dr. Fayssal Mikdad, received Thursday a copy of credentials of Andre Santos as ambassador of  Brazil in Damascus.

The two sides, during the meeting, discussed the bilateral relations and the means of promoting them in various domains to serve the mutual interests of the two friendly countries and peoples.

Mikdad welcomed the Brazilian government’s decision to appoint a new ambassador in Damascus, wishing Mr. Santos the success in performing his duties.

He also stressed Syria’s keenness to develop bilateral relations with Brazil in the political, economic and cultural fields, calling for strengthening coordination and communication on all levels.

The Brazilian ambassador voiced his thanks and appreciation for the Syrian government, and stressed the depth of the historical relations binding the two countries.

In this regard, Mr. Santos presented some significant aspects he seeks to work on to enhance these relations.
