Damascus, SANA- Syria and China discussed Monday means of enhancing the joint cooperation in health, scientific and technological fields.
During his meeting with China’s Ambassador in Damascus Feng Biao, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Bassam Ibrahim underlined that the Syrian-Chinese scientific researches had achieved considerable success at all levels, voicing appreciating for providing financial grant to al-Assad Hospital in Damascus by the Chinese Embassy.
Ibrahim highlighted China’s role in Syria through supporting educational hospitals during COVID-19 pandemic, underlining the importance of attaining greater cooperation in the domains of exchanging visits, expertise, joint scientific researches between the Syrian and Chinese Universities.
For his part, Chinese Ambassador stressed the deep-rooted Syrian-Chinese friendship relations, indicating that giving al-Assad Hospital a financial grant will be the beginning at enhancing cooperation between both countries
He also noted that the return of Syrian students studying in China has been approved in batches, and increasing scholarships for students, especially at the postgraduate level will have to be worked out , in coordination with Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
