Russian security dismantles a network that funds (Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham) terrorists

Moscow, SANA- The press office of the Russian Federal Security Service in the Khabarovsk region has announced dismantling a network that finances the so-called “Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham” terrorist organization.

“The network includes five citizens of a Central Asian country residing in the city of Khabarovsk and has financed terrorists and collected funds for them,” Russia Today website quoted the Security Information Office as saying in a statement.

The office added that criminal cases have been got started against those arrested on charges of aiding in terrorist activity and not informing the authorities, adding that the Khabarovsk District Court convicted the detainees and sentenced them to imprisonment and fines.

In June 2020, the Russian Supreme Court declared the so-called “Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham” a terrorist organization, stressing that it is directly linked to the terrorist organization of “Jabhat al-Nusra” previously banned in the country.
