Russia celebrates 77th anniversary of Victory Day over Nazism

Moscow, SANA- Various events began in many Russian cities on Monday in celebration of the 77th anniversary of the victory over Nazism in the Great Patriotic War.

With the participation of soldiers and equipment of Russian Army, military parades were held in the cities of the Far East and Siberia, meanwhile the big military parade will be held in the Red Square in Moscow, in the presence of Russian President, Vladimir Putin.

11,000 soldiers and 131 pieces of military equipment, in addition to 77 helicopters will participate in the parade which will be led by Ground Forces Commander in Chief, Colonel General, Oleg Salyuk.

The traditional “Immortal Regiment” march will also be held in Moscow, where people go in the streets with portraits of their nearest and dearest participating in the Great Patriotic Ward during a 7-kilometer march through the streets of Moscow.

In the evening, Moscow will witness a festive fireworks display with participation of more than 70 self-propelled launchers, in which more than 11,000 pieces of fireworks will be used.
