Lattakia port re-opened as the storm recedes

Lattakia, SANA – Lattakia port was reopened after the storm hitting the country starts to recede, Director of Seaports in Syria Gen. Maitham Ibrahim al-Youssef said Wednesday.

Al-Youssef said that opening of Tartous port and the oil outlet delayed until the intensity of the storm decreases.

The storm reached 40 knots ( 74km /hr), Gen. al-Youssef said, expecting the winds speed reach between 10 to 15 knots.

He said the damage affected the ports are very limited, adding that the department took all necessary measures to face any abnormal developments.
