Damascus, SANA-People’s Assembly approved on Tuesday a draft law on certifying an agreement on the mutual exemption from visas to holders of diplomatic, special and service passports with Sultanate of Oman and it became a law.
“The draft law comes within the efforts exerted to boost Syria’s active role in the Arab region and the world despite the coercive, unilateral measures imposed by western powers against Syria,” Foreign and Expatriates Minister Fayssal Mikdad said in a speech to the People’s Assembly.
The Minister affirmed the importance of achievements fulfilled by Syria against the western schemes, most importantly, the Syrian people’s turnout to the ballot boxes and their participation in the presidential election, adding this achievement has dealt a blow to the western powers.
“The law related to certifying the agreement with Sultanate of Oman is considered as an excellent and welcomed step to facilitate the visits of the two countries by the categories enlisted in the law,” Mikdad said in a press statement.
He expressed Syria’s aspiration to generalize that mutual exemption with all Arab states.
Later, members of the Assembly discussed a number of issues and draft laws, affirming that the presidential election entitlement came to determine the future of Syria through saying the word of the right.
