Popular gathering in Majdal Shams and Quneitra on 39th anniversary of strike against Israeli occupation’s decision to annex Golan

Quneitra, SANA- Citizens of the occupied Syrian Golan and Quneitra on Sunday gathered in Majdal Shams and Ayn al-Tina towns in commemoration of the 39th anniversary of their historic strike against the decision of the Israeli occupation to annex the Golan, and in affirmation of their belonging to their homeland Syria and their rejection of the occupation.

On Feb. 14th 1982, citizens of the occupied Syrian Golan staged a six-month strike in rejection of the ill-fated decision issued by the Israeli occupation on December 14th 1981 which led to complete paralysis in different areas of the occupied Golan, and they held massive demonstrations through which they were able to impose their will which categorically rejects this racist decision.

In a statement recited by Sheikh Hassan Shams, from occupied town of Majdal Shams, Citizens of Golan affirmed their adherence to Syrian Arab identity and belonging to the homeland, affirming that their determination would be more strong in confronting the occupation schemes that seek to seize and dominate their lands and tighten the noose around them.

The statement added that the scheme of Israeli occupation to establish wind turbines is only a pretext to loot the resources of Golan, stressing that they will remain along the road of martyrdom and loyalty to homeland until the liberation of every inch of the Golan.

Meanwhile , Citizens of Quneitra pledged the homeland that their souls would be sacrificed for it, adding they will go ahead in confronting the greed of occupation, showing confidence that victory is eminent through heroic determination of Syrian Arab Army soldiers.

Governor of Quneitra, Abd al-Halem Khalil, stressed in a speech that the occupied Golan was and still is part and parcel of the Syrian Arab Republic territory, adding this right is imprescriptible.
