Homs, SANA – Talkalkh farmers in Homs countryside began harvesting strawberry crop, amid optimism about abundant production for this season in comparison with previous years.
The farmers told SANA reporter that strawberry cultivation needs continuous care in terms of having diseases-free fruits and providing quality fertilizers to get good production.
The farmers pointed out that the process of harvesting strawberry has started throughout several centers which spread in the western countryside of the province where they collect the farmers’ production then shipping them to rest of provinces.
Head of Talkalkh Agricultural Department, Omar Abed said that strawberry crop becomes first winter crop for Talkalkh farmers due to suitable climate of region for its cultivation and low production costs compared to other protected crops.
