Moscow, SANA –Head of the International Affairs Department at the Federation Council of the Russian Federal Assembly Andrey Baklanov affirmed that drinking water mustn’t be used as a weapon to achieve political purposes because such a thing is a criminal and inhumane act.
This came in a statement to Sputnik news agency on Tuesday regarding the Turkish regime’s persistence in cutting off water from more than a million Syrian citizens in Hasaka city and its vicinity for more than two weeks.
Baklanov said that what is happening in Hasaka is a source of great concern as the situation is difficult, unacceptable, and contradicts UN resolutions.
He noted that Russia will exert all possible efforts to resolve this situation.
