Tehran, SANA- The Iranian Foreign Ministry has affirmed that the People’s Assembly elections are a positive step towards realizing peace and stability in Syria.
The Ministry’s Spokesman, Abbas Mousavi, expressed Iran’s satisfaction over holding these elections successfully in light of the suffering of the Syrian people due to the unjust war waged against them and the destruction which have resulted from the acts of terrorist organizations and the presence of foreign occupation forces, in addition to the unjust coercive measures imposed on Syria.
Mousavi noted that Iran hopes that these elections will be a positive step towards achieving peace and stability in the process of the political intra-Syrian dialogue and alleviating the suffering of the Syrian people.
