Damascus, SANA – Syrian Cartoonist Raed Khalil won second prize at the first international competition which held in India on the occasion of the birth centenary of late former prime minister PV Narasimha Rao .
225 cartoonists from 30 countries participated in the portrait competition where the first award went to Peru and the third one went to India, in addition to distributing three special awards among cartoonists from India.
Speaking to SANA in a statement ,Khalil said that the award has a lot of meanings to him as being a participating Syrian cartoonist in the international competition which included a lot of cartoonists from several countries, and it serves his artistic project aimed at tackling social issues and shedding light on positive and negative sides in life and society at the level of the world.
