Nur-Sultan, SANA- Head of the delegation of the Syrian Arab Republic to Astana talks, Dr. Bashar al-Jaafari reaffirmed that Syria will continue to combat terrorist organizations till eliminating them completely, indicating that the Turkish regime continues to support these terrorist organizations and to occupy Syrian territories in violation of its commitments in Astana and Sochi.
In a press conference in Nur-Sultan city on Wednesday at the conclusion of the 14th round of Astana talks on Syria, al-Jaafari noted that the Turkish regime is occupying Syrian territories whose area is seven folds larger than the area of the occupied Syrian Golan which shows the hypocrisy of this regime and its non-compliance with the Astana understandings and the memorandum that was reached in the Russian city of Sochi in September 2018, which states the need to withdraw its occupational forces from the Syrian territories.
Al-Jaafari said “During the current round, we discussed Turkification attempts by the Turkish regime in areas in northern Syria is a violation of the international law, in addition to its stealing of the historical and cultural heritage of Syria and an official letter was sent in this regard to the UNESCO,” indicating that the U.S. occupation is looting the oil from the Syrian territories and it sells it to the Turkish regime.
Al-Jaafari reaffirmed that Syria will continue to combat terrorism on all of its territories, particularly in Idleb, and that it is a right guaranteed by the UN Charter, the Security Council’s resolutions and the outcomes of Astana track.
He added that terrorists backed by their sponsor powers, namely the U.S., Britain, France and the Zionist entity, in addition to the Turkish and Saudi regimes and Qatar, are continuing their terrorist and criminal acts, and whenever Syria tries to liberate its territories from terrorism, particularly in Idleb, these parties work on hindering that in violation of the Security Council’s resolutions which put these organizations such as Daesh (ISIS), Jabhat al-Nusra and the affiliated organizations on its list of terrorist entities.
Al-Jaafari asserted Syria’s rejection of any foreign interference in its internal affairs or in the work of the Committee of Discussing the Constitution, and its rejection of any separatist agendas.
He indicated that the Syrian Kurd citizens are inseparable part of the Syrian people, and some parties which are subordinate to the U.S. mustn’t be a tool in its hands to undermine Syria’s territorial integrity.
