Al-Jaafari: Turkish aggression violates UNSC resolutions and Astana understandings

New York, SANA-Syria’s permanent representative to the UN, Dr. Bashar al-Jaafari renewed Syria’s strong condemnation of the Turkish aggression on its territories, and its categorical rejection the attempt of Erdogan regime to justify its hostile acts under any pretext.

“The aggression violates UN Security Council resolutions and Astana understandings and Sochi conference outcomes which affirm respecting Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” Al-Jaafari said at a UNSC session on the situation in Syria.

He added that the Turkish aggression led to the occupation of Syrian lands, the martyrdom and injury of hundreds of civilians, among them children and women, it also forced thousands of others to leave home.

Al-Jaafari went on to say that the Turkish regime violated Adana agreement signed between the two countries in 1998, adding ” It brought, supported, trained and armed thousands of terrorists, among them those foreigners who came from more them 100 states according to UN reports, facilitating their infiltration through borders.”

The Syrian diplomat wondered the continuation of some states in their known hypocrisy and double standard policy as they talk about Erdogan hosting of the Syrian refugees, but they ignore that Erdogan would have never host them unless to use them as tools to boost his expansionist greed in the region and exploit them as a  paper to blackmail Europe.

Al-Jaafari concluded that Syria has sent an official message which includes its response to the context of the 63rd general secretariat report about the implementation of resolutions related to the humanitarian situation in the country.
