Assistant FM: Selected and closed alliances reflect unseriousness in countering terrorism 

Damascus, SANA- Assistant Foreign and Expatriates Minister Ayman Sousan reiterated Syria’s stance in support of all exerted regional and international serious efforts for countering terrorism according to the relevant resolutions of the international legitimacy and in the framework of respecting the national sovereignty.

Sousan stressed, during a meeting with a delegation from the Commission for Defending Syria in Sweden headed by George Mkadissi Elias, that “selected and closed” alliances which have special agendas stress the “unseriousness” in combating terrorism.

He briefed the visiting delegation on the dimensions of the aggression launched against Syria to undermine its honorable stances and to impose hegemony on the region, affirming the determination of the Syrian people to defeat aggression and to eliminate all the terrorist organizations across the country.

Assistant FM highly appreciated the role played by Syrian communities and friendly bodies in conveying a true image about the reality of what is taking place in Syria and in contributing to the reconstruction works.

For their part, members of the delegation voiced support and solidarity with Syria, expressing readiness to contribute to anything that would help in achieving victory against terrorism and in the reconstruction works and enhancing the developmental process.

The delegation met Saturday with Information Minister Omran al-Zoubi where both sides discussed issues related to the current crisis in Syria as Minister al-Zoubi stressed that an exit route from the crisis in Syria must be through inter-Syrian national dialogue and that the Political solution in Syria must not come at the expense of fighting terrorism.
