Geneva, SANA- Syria’s Permanent Representative to the UN and other international organizations in Geneva, Ambassador Hussam Eddin Ala, affirmed Syria’s rejection of British draft resolution submitted to the Human Rights Council on the situation in Syria.
Speaking during a session of the Human Rights Council on Friday, Ala said that Britain’s claims on respecting Syria’s sovereignty lose value because it is a direct partner in the aggression on Syria.
Ala said that that the British draft resolution is part of the unbalanced decisions that London has always adopted in a dishonest approach which targets Syria in a provocative language and in politicized and biased decisions, which contradicts the role of the Council as an international mechanism established to protect human rights through dialogue and cooperation based on the principles of neutrality, objectivity, and non-selectiveness.
Ala reiterated Syria’s rejection of the reports of the international investigation commission as it is a politicized mechanism whose work lacks professionalism and objectivity, as well as the reports of the so-called international impartial and independent mechanism which had been set up by governments of states that sponsors of terrorism.
Ala stressed that certain sides’ claims of commitment to supporting the political process and ending the human suffering of the Syrians are in contradiction with these sides’ refusal to admit that terrorism and the policies of aggression, occupation, and unilateral coercive measures are the cause of the Syrians’ suffering, and they also are contradicted by these sides’ attempts to disrupt Syria’s efforts to ensure the return of the displaced to their homes.
