Damascus, SANA- French travel agencies announced intention to start arranging tours to Syria once again to allow tourists to get acquainted with the deep-rooted heritage of the country in a new indication of the return of the tourist season in Syria to its normal status.
Assistant Tourism Minister Bassam Barsik told SANA that the French company of« Clio » will arrange ten-day trips to Syria and will provide special buses and hotel accommodations at a number of the tourist destinations in Damascus, Lattakia, Palmyra, Homs and Ma’aloula with a cost that doesn’t exceed 3,000 Euros.
Barsik added that this company had been working with the Syrian tourist agencies ahead of the war waged against the country, and recently it has contacted several Syrian tourist companies.
He indicated that the first batch of tourists will arrive in Syria next April and four other trips are scheduled to be organized throughout the current year.
