Amputee Adel Sleiman begins march from Tartous to Damascus

Tartous, SANA – With one leg and substantial will, amputee Adel Sleiman began a march from the Governorate building in Tartous city to the Umayyad Square in Damascus, in an initiative seeking to prove that Syrians are still standing fast despite all difficulties.

In a statement to journalists before beginning the march on Saturday, Sleiman said that with this initiative, he wants to send a message to fellow injured people saying that they still have a lot to give and they can continue their lives with stronger determination.

He saluted the members of the Syrian Arab Army on the battlefield, saying “we all proved that no-one can undermine the Syrian people’s strength, steadfastness, determination, national unity, and determination to live.”

Sleiman was injured in the line of duty in 2015 when he was fighting terrorists in Atman area in Daraa province, causing the amputation of his right leg.
