Minister al-Gharbi, Jordanian delegation discuss bolstering economic relations

Damascus, SANA- Internal Trade and Consumer Protection Minister Abdullah al-Gharbi discussed with a Jordanian economic delegation means to activate cooperation in the economy sector and trade exchange between the two countries.

Talks during the meeting also dealt with the opening the Naseeb border crossing and the importance of this step in facilitating the movement of the exchanging foodstuffs and industrial products.

The two sides agreed that a Jordanian official economic delegation should visit Syria to discuss ways to activate bilateral economic relations.

Minister al-Gharbi affirmed Syria’s keenness to activate economic cooperation relations and trade exchange with various friendly countries.

He noted to the need to cooperate with the Jordanian side in the field of granting protection of commercial and industrial property for Jordanian companies.

The minister said that 1600 foreign companies want to register their trademarks in Syria.

Speaking to reporters after the meeting, the Vice President of Jordan Commerce Chamber Ghassan Khirfan said that the delegation includes more than 95 businessmen.

He added that thousands of Jordanians wish to come to Syria.
