Cabinet approves memo on stricter penalties for manipulation of prices in market

Damascus, SANA – The Cabinet approved during a weekly session on Tuesday chaired by Prime Minister Imad Khamis a memo from the Justice Ministry and the Internal Trade and Consumer Protection Ministry on imposing stricter penalties and fines for those who commit infringements, monopolies, or price manipulation in the market.

The Cabinet also approved a bill on banking courts, a bill on exempting investors in the Adra branch of the General Establishment for Duty-Free Zones from overdue fees and fines, and a bill permitting retired civilian workers at the Defense Ministry and the armed forces to become enrolled in the health insurance fund.

The Cabinet also instructed the Industry Ministry to bring the pasta factory in Daraa back into operations, and approved a memo from the Health Ministry on improving the conditions of anesthesiologists, in addition to extending the duration of the decision to grant temporary licenses for establishing industrial facilities by one year.
