Terrorists target power stations in Hama and Sweida

Provinces, SANA -The armed terrorist groups on Thursday targeted Mharda City and the power plant in it with rocket-propelled grenades.

The group number two of the plant stopped and went out of service without any injures reported among the citizens and the workers, a source at Hama Police Command told SANA.

The source added that the armed terrorist groups targeted Mharda power plant with a number of rocket-propelled grenades causing damage to the boiler no.2 of the plant as it went out of service and a light damage to two of the plant’s chimneys.

Three rocket-propelled grenades also landed on Mharda City causing material damage in the houses of the citizens.

Meanwhile, Sweida Province witnessed a power outage since Wednesday midnight caused by a terrorist attack with a mortar shell that landed on the main line linking Tishreen Station with the Province.

Director-General of Sweida General Company for Electricity eng. Nidal Nawfal told SANA that the maintenance teams are currently working on repairing the line.
He expected that the line will return to work in the afternoon.
