Syria, Iran discuss exchanging tourist visits

Damascus, SANA- Tourism Minister Bisher Yazigi discussed on Sunday with Head of Iran’s Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization Saeid Owhadi means of activating the tourist cooperation and the work of the Syrian-Iranian Joint Tourist Committee to increase exchanging visits between the two countries.

Yazigi asserted that the relation between Iran and Syria is built on principled stances and common fate, adding that Owhadi’s visit aims at putting new and good bases for the tourist cooperation between the two counties.

Owhadi, for his part, affirmed his country’s keenness to return tourism with Syria as it was before the crisis where about one million Iranian tourists were visiting Syria annually.

He pointed out that Syria and Iran will sign a memorandum on this regard, indicating that Iran’s victory concerning the nuclear deal with P5+1 will open new prospects of cooperation between the two countries in all fields.
