President al-Assad chairs a meeting for central leadership of al-Baath Party

Damascus, SANA- President Bashar al-Assad, Secretary-General of al-Baath Arab Socialist Party, chaired on Wednesday a meeting of the party’s central leadership, during which he discussed with its member’s various party issues, most notably those related to the Central Committee and al- Baath Party’s strategy through its bloc within the People’s Assembly, and other issues.

During the meeting, a formulation of rules of procedres for the Party’s Central Committee was approved, which defines its role, tasks and relations with Central Leadership and all Party structures.

The role of the party’s parliamentary bloc and its support for the independence of the judiciary, which preserves the rights of the State and individuals, and dedicates the principle of justice, were also reviewed.

On other hand, the meeting stressed the necessity of establishing a financial system for the party that ensures transparency and financial liability regarding the Baath Party’s resources and budget.
