Arab Summit’s final statement demands an immediate stop to Israeli occupation’s aggression on Gaza, remove blockade

Manama, SANA- The Arab League Summit has condemned, in the strongest terms, the brutal crimes of the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people, its unprecedented violations of international law, its attempts to forcibly displace the Palestinian people, demanding an immediate and permanent ceasefire and allowing humanitarian aid to enter Gaza Strip.

“We condemn the extension of the Israeli aggression into the city of Rafah, which has become a haven for more than a million displaced people, and the catastrophic humanitarian repercussions resulted from that, and we condemn the occupation forces’ seizing of the Palestinian side of the Rafah crossing, aiming to tighten the noose around Gaza Strip and stop the flow of humanitarian aid,” the final statement of the Arab Summit said.

The statement added that the Arab Summit’s meeting adopted Bahrain’s initiative to hold an international conference under the auspices of the United Nations to resolve the Palestinian issue in a way that ends the Israeli occupation of all occupied Arab territories.

The statement renewed the call for a just and comprehensive peaceful settlement to the Palestinian issue, and support for the Palestinian President’s call to hold an international peace conference and take irreversible steps to establish an independent, sovereign Palestinian state to the line of June 4, 1967, with Jerusalem as its capital, and to accept its membership in the United Nations as an independent, fully sovereign state like any other country and to ensure the restoration of all legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, especially their right to return, self-determination, empowerment and support.

It called on the international community to fulfill its legal obligations and take decisive measures to end the Israeli occupation of the Arab territories occupied in June 1967, including the occupied Syrian Golan and southern Lebanon, and to implement the relevant Security Council resolutions.

The Arab leaders stressed the need to end the crisis in Syria in a way that preserves its security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, fulfills the aspirations of its people, and rids it of terrorism, expressing their rejection of external interference in its internal affairs and any attempts to bring about demographic changes in it.
