A rescue team and medical supplies from China to face quake effects in Syria

Beijing, SANA- The Red Cross Society of China (RCSC) has announced that it sent on Thursday a team of rescue workers with a first batch of medical supplies to Syria to assist in relief operations and to face the repercussions of the devastating earthquake that struck Syria on Monday dawn.

“The society sent the supplies that meet the needs of about 5,000 people at the request of the Syrian embassy in Beijing and the Syrian Arab Red Crescent,” Xinhua said.

The Society had previously announced a donation of $200,000 to the Red Crescent Organization as emergency humanitarian aid.

It noted that it would follow closely the humanitarian needs in the affected areas and continue to provide humanitarian aid.
