Indonesian Ambassador discusses means of bolstering trade and economic cooperation with Syria

Tartous, SANA- Governor of Tartous, Abdul Halim Awadh Khalil, discussed Wednesday with the Ambassador of Indonesia to Syria, Wajid Fauzi, prospects of bolstering the commercial and economic cooperation.

During the meeting, Ambassador Fauzi, gave a brief explanation about Indonesia geography and culture, asserting the deep rooted relations binding the two countries and hoping to promote them further in the next stage.

“I came here to discuss the possibility of increasing trade and economic bilateral cooperation” the Ambassador said in his meeting with Chairman and members of Tartous Chamber of Commerce and Industry where he invited them to attend Trade Expo Indonesia 2022 (TEI) to be held 19-23 October 2022 at the Indonesian capital of Jakarta.

In turn, Khalil said in similar statement that these events contribute to enhancing cooperation especially in the economic domain, noting that Tartous is ready to extend all necessary support to promote these relations.

Syria is keen to attend TEI next month, Chairman of the Chamber affirmed.
