Damascus, SANA- Prime Minister, Hussein Arnous, discussed on Monday with the Indian Ambassador in Damascus, Hifzur Rahman means of strengthening bilateral cooperation in the industrial, electrical, and scientific fields, capacity building, e-government, remote education, and the installation of prosthetic limbs.
“Syria sees India as a strategic partner, and the two countries have strong historical ties, and it is necessary to activate the memorandums of understanding and cooperation formulas signed between the two sides and seek to sign new contracts and move forwards in implementing them in the common interest for the two friendly countries and peoples,” Arnous said during the meeting.
He called on Indian economic and industrial activates to visit Syria to explore investment opportunities, stressing that Syria appreciates the stances of countries that stood by it and providing support to it during its war against terrorism.
Prime Minister thanked India’s leadership and people for standing by the Syrian people and their right to determine their future, and their rejection of external interference in their internal affairs.
In turn, the Indian ambassador, on behalf of his country’s government, offered condolences to the Syrian government over the death of Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Walid al-Moallem.
The Ambassador reiterated his country’s commitment to support Syria in the relief sector as well as in the joint investment projects.
