After suspension of a two and half months , universities reopened  

Damascus, SANA- After a suspension of two and a half months, universities and institutes were reopened to complete the second semester of the academic year 2019-2020, in parallel with the resumption of open learning exams for the first semester amid commitment to the precautionary and preventive measures taken to tackle the Coronavirus pandemic.

The number of students who have attended reached about 750,000, while the number of students who will complete the open learning exams at the universities is estimated at 130,000, according to Dr. Riyad Taifour, Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Student Affairs who stressed in a statement to SANA the full compliance with the academic calendar set by the Ministry in this regard where it starts from today and ends on 7-30-2020.

The Governmental team which is concerned with measures for tackling coronavirus pandemic has recently agreed on reopening the universities and institutes starting from May 31st and ending the suspension of teaching which started on March 14th in framework of the measures taken to preserve the safety and health of students.
