Damascus, SANA-Health Ministry on Sunday launched the first national anti-polio vaccination campaign for the year 2020 and it will last till next Thursday and it targets children who are from one day to five years of age regardless of their previous vaccines.
The campaign will be carried out through 967 health centers and 2,336 mobile teams in different areas, and it targets more than 2.8 million children.
The Health Ministry has assigned about 8,800 health workers for the campaign who are distributed among the centers and the mobile teams, and it sent the vaccines to different provinces, in addition to allocating 354 centers for the supply of vaccines.
The Health Ministry launches two national anti-polio vaccination campaigns annually, as the last campaign was carried out on October 2019 and it achieved a coverage rate of 91 percent.
