Lavrov and Zarif affirm need for eliminating terrorism in Syria completely

Moscow, SANA- Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif affirmed the need for eliminating terrorism in Syria completely.

During a joint press conference on Monday, Lavrov said that some states continue to protect terrorist organizations in Syria in violation of the Security Council’s resolutions, stressing the need to continue fighting terrorism until it is eliminated completely.

He also emphasized the need for the international community to help return displaced Syrians to their homes.

For his part, Zarif, reiterated his country’s call for finding a political solution for the crisis in Syria that respects its sovereignty and territorial integrity, affirming the importance of eliminating terrorism in Syria completely.
