Damascus, SANA – Al-Thawra club won the Women’s Basketball Republic Cup after beating al-Jalaa club 75-54 in the final match held on Friday at al-Fayhaa sports complex in Damascus.
Al-Tahwra had the upper hand since the start of the match, dominating the first three quarters with the points being distributed at 21-19, 27-13, and 18-12, while al-Jalaa made a slight comeback in the final quarter with 9-10 points, with the match ending at 75-54 as al-Thawra took advantage of its strong offense and a-Jalaa’s imperfect defense.
Al-Thawra was the winner of the previous season’s Republic Cup, beating Qasiyoon club 72-51.
