Homs, SANA-On the occasion of Christmas, al-Hwash town in Homs countryside on Tuesday lighted the Christmas tree amid popular festival at the courtyard of Mar Elias Church.
Bishop Aliasha Khaisha said in a speech that Christmas is a day for Peace, Joy and amity, affirming that Syria was and still is the safe haven for all people and the cradle of heavenly religions and human civilizations.
The tree’s length is nearly 10 meters and its carries different forms of lights and colors.
