German Defense Minister affirms need to preserve territorial integrity of Syria and Iraq

Davos, SANA- German Defense Minister Ursula von der Leyen on Wednesday affirmed the need to preserve the unity of the Syrian and Iraqi territories.

After the defeating of Daesh (ISIS) terrorist organization, the fragmenting of Syria or Iraq must not being allowed, the Minister said in a speech within a session on finding a new equilibrium in the Middle East on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos.

She called for cooperation with Russia and working under the umbrella of the United Nations to rebuild the region and achieve stability in it.
