Tartous, SANA – Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and All East John X Yazigi presided upon prayers on Sunday evening at Our Lady Church in the village of al-Yazdiye in Safita countryside.
In his sermon, Patriarch Yazigi asserted that the role of Syrian Christians have always been and always will be constructive and civilized in their motherland which embraced them along with Muslims, allowing them to build a civilization that illuminated the entire world.
He said that coexistence among Syrians without discrimination is an attribute to be proud of, and that Syrians’ will to live, their love for peace, and their rejection of murder and terrorism will make Syria stronger than it ever was.
Earlier on Saturday, Patriarch Yazigi met local youths in Safita diocese, affirming to them the role of youth in uplifting society through science, culture, and dedicated work to confront exclusionist mentality
and strengthen the culture of dialogue.
