450 doctors graduate from Damascus University

Damascus, SANA- Damascus University on Sunday celebrated the graduation of 450 students from the Faculty of Medicine at al-Shabab City in Mezzeh neighborhood, Damascus.

Minister of Higher Education Dr. Amer Mardini said the graduation of hundreds of doctors whether on the level of Damascus University or the Syrian universities in light of the current circumstances is considered a “great victory for Syria and a message to the whole world that Syria embraces strong cadres.”

Mardini called upon the graduates to practice their carrier optimally and to serve their homeland.

For his part, Rector of Damascus University, Mohammad Hassan al-Kurdi said that a lot of students from different specialties graduate from Damascus University every year, and this embodies the role of the university in defining the real needs of the local and Arab labor markets.

Al-Kurdi indicated that the Faculty of Medicine at Damascus University is the only faculty which depends on the Arabic language in teaching as a response to the colonization policy which has tried to obliterate the Arabic language and because Arabic is the native language of the students.
