Food packages distributed among displaced in Hasaka

Hasaka, SANA- Al-Berr and Social Services charity branch in Hasaka distributed 1,200 food  packages to families displaced by terrorism from al-Houl area to the east of Hasaka city on  Tuesday.

Mohammad Fateh al-Abbasi, administrative director of the Hasaka branch, told SANA’s reporter  that each food package contains 67 kilograms of basic food materials, pointing out that the  charity, in cooperation with the World Food Program (WFP), will begin the distribution of

1,500  more other food packages in addition to food supplements for children to those families during  next week.

In turn, Mahammad Basheer al-Hashemi, the manager of the “Back to School” project carried out by  the same charity, said that the project’s activities include campaigns for raising awareness among people and local communities, artistic and entertainment activities, and providing gifts  for children in primary schools to encourage locals to let their children attend schools at the start of the school year.

The activities of “Back to School” project will last for two months in cooperation with other  charities, the Directorate of Education, and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).

Meanwhile, al-Mawadda charity in Hasakah distributed 1,000 clothing packages provided by UNCEF  to locals in al-Derbasiya city and its countryside.

Sa’ad Salo, manager of the charity, told SANA that they focused on orphans and people with  special needs based on lists of names, pointing out that the charity is waiting to receive  clothes which will be distributed in Amouda city.

The charity distributed 8,400 food and assorted aid packages to locals from Amouda and al- Derbasiya that are staying in Hasaka, in addition to the locals of Tal Barak.
