Damascus, SANA- Greek Melkite Catholic Patriarch of Antioch and All the East Gregory III Laham strongly condemned the horrifying inhuman crimes committed by the armed terrorist groups against the Syrian people in a time the world is divided on fighting terrorism.
In a message addressed to the international community, Patriarch Gregory III indicated to the humanitarian catastrophes caused by the terrorists who sow the fear and force the civilians to immigrate to different states, referring to the latest crimes of the terrorists who attacked the town of al-Qaryatain in Homs and displaced its locals, in addition to destroying the archeological Mar Elian Monastery in the town.
He considered that the division of the world with regard to those Takfiri groups is the reason behind their persistence in crimes, calling upon Arab countries and the whole world to stop the wars in the Middle East, particularly in Syria and Iraq.
He also called upon the international community to support the Syrian and Iraqi governments and to fight terrorism side by side with them to achieve peace and security in the region as a whole, warning that if the world doesn’t unify in fighting terrorism, an unprecedented cosmic war will erupt.
The Patriarch concluded by calling upon the international community to support the peace process.
