Tehran, SANA- Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and UN Special Envoy on Syria Staffan de Mistura on Tuesday discussed the latest developments regarding the situation in Syria and the UN’s efforts to reach a political solution for the crisis in Syria.
During the meeting, Zarif said that the support being provided by some sides to terrorism is the main cause for the persistence of the crisis in Syria, the emergence of extremism in the region, and the lack of stability in it.
De Mistura, for his part, asserted commitment to seeking a political solution for the crisis in Syria via peaceful and democratic ways, and he hailed Iran’s role in supporting this track, describing it as very constructive and appropriate.
