Ministry of Social Affairs celebrates International Day of Action for Women’s Health

Homs, SANA- Ministry of Social Affairs is cooperating with international partners and humanitarian organizations in light of the current circumstances to protect women and children from the impacts of the crisis, “such as the sexual abuse, recruiting children and preventing them from going to the school and from obtaining the health care in the unsecure areas,” Minister of Social Affairs Kinda al-Shammat said during a festivity on the occasion of International Day of Action for Women’s Health held in Homs Sunday.

For her part, Director of Women Development Programs at the UN Population Fund (UNFPA) Rania al-Ahmar stressed that celebrating the occasion will contribute to raising awareness on the international level on the domain of developing the health of women and societies.

Al-Ahmar hailed the attention paid by the UNFPA to the Syrian women with the aim of providing their health and social needs and attracting all types of international support to develop them and help them get out of the crisis.

The world celebrates the International Day of Action for Women’s Health on May 28th every year.
