Cabinet discuses procedures for regulating prices in markets

Damascus, SANA – The Cabinet discussed on Tuesday a number of economic and services issues, including procedures for regulating prices in markets, and set working hours for government employees during the month of Ramadan from 9 am to 3 pm.

Chairing the weekly session, Prime Minister Wael al-Halaqi pointed out that government is working towards implementing measures and decisions to support the Syrian Arab Army and bolster its steadfastness, as well as taking care of martyrs’ families.

Premier al-Halaqi said that the spiritual meeting on Monday which brought together the five Patriarchs of Antioch and All East in Damascus is proof of the Syrian community’s unity and cohesion, hailing the closing statement issued at the end of that meeting.

For his part, Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and Expatriates Minister Walid al-Moallem, said that the Syrian Arab Army’s recent achievements in Hasaka are very important because they thwarted a political project which was being prepared for the province.

On the results of Turkish elections, al-Moallem said that the elections brought an end to Erdogan’s ambitions and proved to the local and international public opinion that the Turkish people reject Erdogan’s erroneous policies, his blatant interference in neighboring countries’ affairs, his role in undermining security and stability in the region, and his actions that led to making Turkey a hotspot for terrorism, something which will backfire on Turkey in the future before everyone else.

The Cabinets also discussed a draft law related to curbing illegal drawing of electricity and preventing encroachments upon the electric power grid, in addition to approving a memo from the Economy and Foreign Trade Ministry on extending the Cabinet resolution No. 3 related to exempting imports made by the public sector from Iran from fees for six months starting on 2/7/2015.

The Cabinet also approved two memos from the Higher Education Ministry about the Ministry’s vision and its work plan for 2015 and its executive program.
