Damascus, SANA- Participants at the Syrian Woman Forum, which concluded activities on Monday, stressed the importance of increasing the representation of Syrian woman in all legislative and executive institutions , as well as expanding her role in the People’s Assembly’s national reconciliation committees.
The participants in the Forum, which was held by the General Women Union in coordination with the Education and Cultural ministries, called for outlining a strategy for upbringing children and establishing communications with women living in temporary residential l centers to provide them with psychological, economic and social support.
They also called for coordinating with women preachers to expose takfiri thought that targets generations’ minds and focusing on the values of coexistence in the Syrian community.
The participants pointed to the importance of promoting a culture of citizenship and raising awareness to reach rural women in all provinces and prod women towards science and technology and encourage them to complete post-graduate studies irrespective of their age.
They asserted on the importance of reviewing laws related to inheritance and adopting strict penalties against domestic violence practiced against women.
