Helicopter carrying Iranian president and other officials makes emergency landing

Tehran, SANA-A helicopter carrying Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and his accompanying delegation suffered an “emergency landing” accident in East Azerbaijan Province, northwest of Iran.

The helicopter that was subjected to an accident was carrying President of Republic, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian, Governor of East Azerbaijan, Malek Rahmati, Imam of Juma Tabriz, and other escorts, the Iranian news agency “IRNA” reported .

IRNA added that the rescue teams arrived at the accident site and began the search operation, but the heavy fog and the prevailing difficult weather conditions affected the mission of the rescue teams and made their work difficult.

The Iranian agency pointed out that 20 rescue teams were sent to the area, but due to the weather conditions, the search and rescue operation will take some time, noting that any other details will be announced later.
