Manama, SANA- Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Fayssal Mikdad, as part of his participation in the Arab Summit meeting in Manama, met with Mikhail Bogdanov, Russian President’s Special Representative for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister.
During the meeting, Mikdad expressed his congratulations on the occasion of the re-inauguration of Russian President Vladimir Putin, and the appointment of a new government in Russia.
Mikdad also praised the Russian army’s victories in its special military operation in the Donbass region.
Minister Mikdad commended Russia’s support for Arab issues in general and Syria in particular, praising the political support it provided to the cause of the Palestinian people in the Security Council.
For his part, Bogdanov stressed the strategic relationship between Syria and Russia, the Russian Federation’s firm position in supporting Syria, and its endeavor to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries in various fields, emphasizing the importance of holding a meeting of the Joint Committee for Economic and Technical Cooperation between the two countries as soon as possible.
The two sides also discussed developments of the situation in the region and the world and the destructive role of the US, France and other Western countries in various regions of the world with the aim of destabilizing security and stability in it.
