Provinces, SANA- The Christian denominations in Syria that follow the Eastern calendar celebrated Easter (the resurrection of Jesus Christ) on Sunday by holding prayers and masses at churches and places of worship.
In Damascus, Patriarch of Antioch and All the East for Rome Orthodox, John X, presided upon Easter mass at the Mariamite Cathedral in Damascus. during which his Holiness stressed the importance of following the values of glorious Easter in all aspects of life and spreading the message of love and peace among the people of the homeland and in the world.
At the end of his sermon, the patriarch prayed to God to protect Syria, its people, and its army, President Bashar al-Assad, to have mercy on its righteous martyrs, and to heal its wounded.
