Damascus, SANA- Prime Minister Hussein Arnous and the Chargé d’Affairs of the Indian Embassy in Damascus, Vijay Pandey discussed Thursday means of boosting the Syrian-Indian relations in all fields.

During the meeting, both sides underlined the importance of activating the work of joint government committees and strengthening trade exchange and commodity swap based on the deep-rooted historical relations between the two brotherly countries.

Arnous stressed that plundering Syria’s resources of oil and wheat by the occupation and its affiliated militias in the Syrian al-Jazeera region and the imposition of unjust economic embargo have negatively affected meeting the citizens’ basic needs, which the government is working to provide to them, in cooperation with friendly countries, including India.

He also hailed India’s supporting stances for Syria, particularly the support it provided to Syria during the earthquake disaster by sending humanitarian aid to the affected.

In turn, Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy said that his country will continue support Syrian people, stressing the strength of bilateral relations and the necessity to develop them in a way that serves the common interest.
