Health Minister: Coercive economic measures hinder recovery of health sector

Geneva, SANA-Health Minister, Hasan Ghabbash, said on Monday that the unilateral coercive measures imposed on the Syrian people, the latest of which is enlisting a number of hospitals that offer their services to citizens free of charge, hinder the delivering of equipment and tools needed for treatment and diagnosis.

Ghbbash, in a speech at the 152nd session of the World Health Organization (WHO) Executive Board in Geneva, called for supporting procedures to remove the sanctions and find comprehensive and typical health strategies to face difficulties and challenges for all health issues.

He demanded an immediate intervention by the Executive council to stop the criminal acts of the Zionist entity against people of the Occupied Syrian Golan and Palestine.

The Minister said that the world is in need now, more than ever before, to fortify health systems in order to ensure health cover and achieve goals of the 2030 sustainable development.
