Makhlouf: Local administration elections the beginning of a new phase for the work of administrative units

Damascus, SANA- Local administration elections are the beginning of a new phase for the work of administrative units and the formation of efficient local councils that lay development plans for the next four years, Local Administration and Environment Minister Hussein Makhlouf said in press conference on Monday.

Makhlouf called on the Syrians aboard to return their home to participate in the elections and contribute in reconstructing what has been destroyed by terrorism.

He added that the elected local councils have absolute authorizations to develop and advance their communities.

“We have made a progress in completing the development of the national plan for administrative decentralization in coordination with all ministries,” Makhlouf said.
