Arnous, Abkhaz delegation discuss means to boost bilateral relations in various fields

Damascus, SANA- Prime Minister, Eng. Hussein Arnous, discussed on Thursday with Assistant Prime Minister of the Republic of Abkhazia, Oleg Bartsis, and the accompanying delegation, ways to enhance bilateral relations in economic, commercial, cultural, investment and scientific fields, particularly in domain of student exchange.

Arnous stressed the importance of increasing cooperation to confront the pressures, break the siege imposed on the two countries, and enhance the work of the joint committee in a way that would serve the interests of the two friendly peoples.

He underlined the need to encourage economic activities in order to establish joint investment projects, in addition to increasing the volume of trade exchange, and securing the needs of the two countries’ markets.

The Prime Minister referred to the new investment law in Syria, which provides a suitable environment for investment in various sectors and provides facilities for investors.

Arnous stressed Syria’s government readiness to provide all support for Abkhazian investments in Syria and to develop relations between the two countries to include all fields.

For his part, Assistant Prime Minister of Abkhazia expressed his country’s desire to expand cooperation with Syria and work to increase trade exchange and revitalize joint economic activities.

He highlighted the desire of many investors in Abkhazia to make investments in Syria and establish commercial companies with the private sector in it to carry out various commercial activities, especially in light of the new investment law in Syria, which provides facilities for investors.
